Located on the Mayo Clinic campus, the Hilton’s design focuses on healing, relaxation, and wellness. Modern luxury meets comfort, creating a space for recovery and recharging. Neutral fabrics, wallcoverings, and area rugs in shades of blue and green promote serenity and calm, while soft leather accents adorning the millwork and front desk add a touch of sophistication, and hand-painted tiles in the restaurant and wood ceiling beams throughout the hotel bring warmth and add character. The materials, furniture, and lighting blend natural textures, curvilinear forms, and organic movements to provide guests with a layered, restorative haven.
The hotel integrates a coastal ambiance inspired by Jacksonville’s intracoastal waterway with a design that honors the surrounding driftwood and dense trees nearby, balancing richness and depth in its overall tone. As guests enter the lobby, they are welcomed by a large mural of the Treaty Oak, a beloved old oak tree ingrained in Jacksonville’s past and said to be over 250 years old. In public spaces, preserved greenery is thoughtfully placed in the walls and millwork, guiding guests through the hotel’s various amenities. Freestanding planters showcase local flora and create a seamless transition between the indoor and outdoor spaces, where visitors are welcomed into a restful environment to enjoy nature. Guests are encouraged to relax by the pond on property and enjoy the pool-side lounge and dining experiences.
Rooted in the site’s history as an old tree farm and inspired by local imagery, the artwork throughout the hotel features beaches, intracoastal waterways, and abstract representations of tranquil spaces. Lighting is a standout feature of the property, crucial to the ambiance. Each fixture forms a three-dimensional, imaginative experience defining each area of the public space and adding more depth to the ceilings. The freeform silhouettes and organic placements evoke a sense of movement and mimic the rolling waves at the buffet, the sea glass in the restaurant, and the natural floral and seashell-shaped pendants over the bar, lobby, and reception.
