Boundless Worlds · Folded Space

This project is an offline XR immersive cinema designed for Xi’an Film Group, covering approximately 240 square meters. Integrating immersive XR viewing with a public lounge area, the space redefines how physical environments can support next-generation cinematic experiences.
As XR technology expands the boundaries of storytelling, traditional theaters struggle to accommodate new modes of perception. Guided by the concept “Boundless Worlds · Endless Space,” the design transforms the space from a passive container into an active component of the XR narrative.
A three-directional mirror system and semi-transparent ice screens dissolve spatial boundaries, while curved and folded floor geometries amplify sensations of compression and expansion. Equipped with 30 smart 360-degree rotating XR seats, the project presents a practical and operable prototype for immersive digital cinema in the XR era.
