“Maple Glory” is a private residence—an intimate exploration of life patterns translated into spatial language. The layout originates from the family’s daily routines and emotional connections. The possible life scenarios were sketched and imagined, allowing the framework of the home to naturally unfold from their movement and interactions. The first floor is primarily dedicated to parent–child engagement, reflecting the deep appreciation for time spent with children. The second floor houses three bedrooms, ensuring privacy and comfort. On the third floor, an attic space has been transformed into a shared painting and calligraphy studio, nurturing creativity and quiet reflection. Generous and thoughtfully integrated storage solutions conceal the trivialities of daily life, preserving a sense of calm and order throughout the home. Within a modern architectural framework, the interior expresses a subtle Eastern aesthetic. It is inspired by the “Doctrine of the Mean”—a philosophy of balance and moderation. Rather than adhering rigidly to a specific style, the design achieves harmony through warm beige, coffee, and soft gray tones. The overall atmosphere feels gentle and composed. Much of the furniture adopts contemporary forms infused with refined Eastern charm, which perfectly echoes the project’s philosophy. A suspended fireplace becomes the emotional centerpiece of the living room, evoking the poetic imagery of gathering around the fire to brew tea—moments destined to become cherished memories. Autumn maple leaves serve as a symbolic motif throughout the home. The staircase handrail has been reimagined as a vertical maple-leaf installation extending from the first to the third floor. Through the interplay of light and shadow, maple silhouettes shift across the steps, creating the sensation of walking through a forest. Even transitional spaces hold delightful surprises—flexible corners that may serve as a bench, a child’s play area, or simply a scenic pause. In the master bedroom, deeper tones of beige and gray-brown create a serene, cocoon-like ambiance. Subtle bamboo shadows adorn the headboard wall, gently integrating Eastern elements. Beyond lies the master bath, separated by black glass to maintain a cool, sophisticated tone. Ambient lighting and the ritual of a warm bath compose a private evening romance.
