Overhead Floor of Yunnan Kunming Dowell New Horizon

In today's society, interpersonal relationship is becoming more and more indifferent, and neighbors are often unfamiliar with each other. In this project, more than half of the owners give up a few percent of the occupancy rate for the overhead floor. Therefore, the designer creatively putting the living room, party, fitness, learning, communication and other daily life scenes into the overhead floor, providing a variety of sharing public space for the owner.

The large-area overhead space is a semi-outdoor open public space connected with the landscape interface. In terms of material selection, the durability, weather resistance and easy maintenance of materials are fully considered, which is quite different from the materials used in traditional interior space.

Due to the complex structure of the overhead floor, the use of materials follows the principle of simplicity. The designer expresses the spatial function and the sense of building volume through the exterior wall materials and color relations. The aluminum ceiling is designed with flat roof, and the moisture-proof and waterproof characteristic materials are used to solve the problem of low moisture resistance of overhead layer. The ground material is combined with the extension and connection of the landscape footpath, and terrazzo floor tiles are selected to make the texture and color match relatively.

The walls and pillars inside the overhead floor occupy a large area. If the designer simply planted some plants on the edge of the overhead floor and arranged several paths inside the space, the wall would be too single, lacking vitality and other functional elements.

In order to open up the "second living room" for collective living of residents and make the design project more intimate, the designer tries to make semi outdoor space "interior". However, the overhead space is closely connected with landscape and architecture, and the differences in the basic conception and design starting point of the three specialties lead to the three majors' need to reach a consensus through more than ten rounds of mutual collision, and finally make the project successfully completed.
