True urbanity resides not in grand gestures but in the whispered moments of daily life. Located along the high-density axis of Pudong, Shanghai, MOOOMA transforms the stilt floor of "The Prism" into an "artistic vessel" titled Crystal Jungle. Through meticulous control of proportion, materiality, and light, this public space assumes a "companion role," seamlessly bridging urban energy with the essence of dwelling.
The design adopts the "Crystal Jungle" as its conceptual thread, extracting rational geometric orders from the architectural facade and translating them into a warm interior vernacular. At the heart of the project lies the Forest Library, where continuous timber book walls create a sense of profound enclosure. Natural light descends gracefully along the elevations, drifting across book spines and tabletops in a delicate dance of shadows. Here, the rigid efficiency often found in urban public spaces is dissolved, replaced by an intuitive invitation to linger. Red maple foliage is strategically placed as a "chronometer" of nature, marking the passage of seasons and allowing the outdoors to permeate the interior in a low-intensity yet high-perception manner.
Through a sophisticated dialogue between timber, emerald stone, and expansive glazing, rituals such as reading, tea tasting, and social interaction become spontaneous occurrences. This project is far more than a functional layout; it is a living sanctuary that evolves with time, a warm vessel that brings art back to the core of residency, serving as a poetic prologue to the residents' private lives.
