The Sichuan Hall of Fame is located in Tianfu New Area, Sichuan Province. The project adopts the core concept of "geography shaping humanity", shaping the building into a cultural narrative space intended to be walked through and experienced.
The design draws inspiration from the mountains and waters of Sichuan. Through subtractive massing, it creates an abstract representation of the Sichuan mountain form. At the same time, the spatial environment of Sichuan's waters is introduced to present the region's cultural identity. Red sandstone, the primary facade material, is combined with parametric design to form an abstract expression of "mountain stone," interpreting the detail and fluidity of Sichuan's peaks.
The design continues the park-city concept veins. The ground floor is lifted to bring the greenery of Tianfu Park into the site. The inner interface of this green valley resembles the interior of a carved jade stone, with crystalline forms in varied arrangements, delivering a walking experience with changing views for exhibition visitors and urban public spaces. A "Star Valley" is created within the museum by introducing an open, bright atrium. This space connects the western green valley and the eastern Tianfu Park both spatially and visually, strengthening the ecological dialogue between the park city and the building's interior. The circulation is organized around the "Star Valley" atrium, incorporating the concept of the "Shu Road." The entire journey evokes the historical experience of the ancient Shu people entering and leaving the Shu region.
The museum integrates modern exhibition methods, including interactive art, immersive holograms, and experiential settings, with traditional display techniques. An operational strategy of supporting the museum through its own revenue is adopted. The goal is to create a contemporary museum that gathers energy and public engagement, forming a sustainable cultural complex.
