Envisioned through contemporary Wabi-Sabi, this immersive interior employs stained glass, Hinoki cypress, marble, and terrazzo to capture the poetic passage of time and light. The design subtly balances rugged textures with a generous sense of scale, merging pared-back simplicity with refined craftsmanship to elevate daily rituals into a serene staycation.

This renovation of a 315-sqm older apartment prioritizes the life cycle of materials, transforming existing resources into a spatial vocabulary that minimizes waste. The design emphasizes tactile quality and craftsmanship, allowing Hinoki, marble, terrazzo, retro tiles, and artisanal glass to unfold a layered experience. Tailored to the inhabitant’s lifestyle and habits, a nuanced configuration of light, color, and texture fosters both stability and sensory depth. A flexible boundary between public and private zones connects the interior to the surroundings, establishing a secure harbor that invites external interaction. Through adaptive reuse and low-impact construction, the project embeds resilience against future shifts, allowing past and present to engage in an ongoing dialogue.
