Light and Shadow

The taste of a space comes from the urge in human to seek and explore. It depends on the need of users, the cultural status and also time. The works can show how the mental status of the designer is as time goes on. A designer’s work is just like words to a writer, which reveals the inner part of its creator and is full of spirit.



The works bear the depth of the creators’ souls and record the history and the passing of time, while themselves evolve with the change of eras.



The project is to redesign for a studio, which is formerly a story of a furniture mall. The designer tore down all the partitions and floors of the original layout and creates an open space for photo shot. The space can now be used as a studio for the owner to shoot the furniture for e-commerce and photographers to rent, renovating the family business with innovations.



The main design idea is to keep the space organic. Therefore, the designer builds a light and diverse commercial studio. With high ceiling and much nature light, the space brings people the diversity of nature, culture, and the unknown. The designer creates eight rooms of different styles; with over 30 kinds of textures such as coatings, paintings, veneers and tiles mix-matching, each room builds a wonderland of its kind.



The eight rooms present different styles such as basic studio with white cyclo walls, old England style, minimalism style with fair-faced concrete, industrial style, retro style with vintage tiles, marine style, a wall of industrial containers and also softness style with pure white.
