These two powerhouse Pacific Northwest companies — Luly Yang and Amazon — are rewriting the definition for innovation, and the Amazon DSP uniform is emblematic of that. This uniform was designed to make the wearer both feel good and look good; pride in the form of clothing.
The everyday uniform has been recast in Yang’s vision — one that centers around elevating the human experience — to perform more like activewear with stretch fabrics that are easy to care for, durable, breathable, and comfortable during the ebbs and flows of seasonal temperatures and conditions.
Angled pockets designed for ergonomic ease of use elevate jackets and pants into a new class of workwear, and the men’s and women’s uniform pieces were thoughtfully fitted to flatter a wide range of body types.
The strategic color blocking of Amazon’s brand colors — Prime Blue and Ink Grey — performs double duty as a safety feature for the delivery personnel: reflective logos and trims and a cohesive color palette makes every driver easily recognizable and visible.
Yang’s designs and attention to detail are proof that a uniform serves a purpose greater than utility. Clothing should feel almost like a second skin — comfortable and practical. But it should also give its wearers the confidence to come to work as their proudest and most authentic selves.
