The MixC IMAX Flagship in Shenzhen Bay brings a premium entertainment offer to more than 12 million residents in Shenzhen. The design concept took inspiration from the luxury hotel industry, bringing a distinctive and immersive experience with a user-centric approach. The vision was to deliver a design befitting the cinema’s status as the anchor leisure and entertainment offer for the wider 80,000sqm MixC Shenzhen Bay.

The Grand Lobby is one of the first spaces guests experience when they enter into the cinema destination. Revolving around the ticketing counter, the design is intimate and detailed, capturing the essence of the high end-brand. The VIP lounge branded as ‘The Director’s Room’ extends the design language of the Grand Lobby, bringing rich and natural materials to the forefront, and evoking the Cigar Lounges of old. Wood-paneled walls, stone floors, soft leather and velvet seating accompany mood lighting and black and white artworks channeling movie culture.

The contemporary design features double-height ceilings and illuminated and textured walls embellished with natural woods, rich metals and natural stone. The soft furnishings invite guests to sit and dwell within the space, allowing cinema-goers to engage with the design. Neon lighting provides an elegant yet playful visual within the rich and textured materials.

The MixC IMAX Flagship in Shenzhen Bay is equipped with cutting-edge facilities that let audiences in Shenzhen step into another reality. The design has ensured each touchpoint within the luxurious cinematic experience has been given the same emphasis. The washrooms, for example, feature the same high-end materials and attention to detail as the front-of-house areas. Ample seating areas, akin to living rooms, have been curated throughout to provide places to relax near the theatre entrances. The vision was for cinema guests to feel as though they were in high-end hotel.

The 3,400sqm space was meticulously planned to accommodate eight cinema theatres. The layout includes three VIP Theatres (total 78 seats), four General Theatres (total 547 seats) and the Dolby Theatre (345 seats), the largest within the development.

With the MixC IMAX Cinema brand, China Resources Land is transforming the cinema experience for audiences in China.
