Reflections of Oriental Esthetics

The project is situated in shaoxin, a city at the Zhejiang province, China. Shaoxing is a town of rivers and canals, arch bridges and boats, and home of many notable people in ancient China and in modern history. The initial concept is inspired by circle, the circle for the shape of the bridge, the reflections.etc. Circle is an important cultural symbol, which represents harmony, the balance of the yin and yang and the duality of nature, which is an essential part of Daoist and Chinese medical philosophies. For centuries, the circle has influenced scores of Chinese philosophers, scholars and literary figures.

The circle design language was applied to different design elements and feature nodes by abstracted modern approach to give the vibrant and energetic retail environment ambiences. There are four major themes, open house, community salon, under the tree, and the kitchen.
