National Beauty Exquisite Collection Gift Box is a make-up gift box corporately designed by Maogeping Beauty, a high-end make-up brand in Hangzhou City and Palace Museum.

In view of the brand features, we single out the culture of the Song Dynasty which correlates closely with Hangzhou to design our gift box, which aims to represent traditional culture essence of the Song Dynasty. The basic elements of the packaging originate from Plum and Birds, a classic painting and also a cultural relic in the collection of Palace Museum.

The innovative packaging structure helps display the traditional Chinese study in front of users as the packaging slowly opens. Also, users can appreciate the gilded painting and immerse in a classic atmosphere that the make-up products mimic the form of Four Treasures of the Study (writing brush, ink, paper and ink stone) to be laid on the calligraphy table. Besides, the sub-packaging is handy to disassemble and carry.

The separate calligraphic strokes written in Slender Gold style portray the culture of the Song Dynasty and manifest the brand confidence of “The only one”. The co-branded logo is put inside the crystal buckle which was inspired by gourd seal of Zhao Ji (an emperor of the Song Dynasty) printed on the painting, and delineates a delicate and luxury keynote. The combination of the gift box and the gilded technique as well as the combination of the scenery setting and the exquisite calligraphic strokes, highlight cultural attributes of the packaging and evoke a unique cultural echo. We hope to convey the national awareness of Chinese traditional culture through the packaging, and to show the world the Chinese brand's insistence on traditional culture.
