Chongqing Tianyue One - Flowing Art Museum

The project is located in Jiangbei District, Chongqing, China, adjacent to the Jialin River, in the first line of river viewing area, and across the river from the ancient town of Magzikou. The current status of the site is a decade old "bad building", desolate and quiet abandoned buildings almost buried in the green cover, in the desolation, but also contains a vibrant life. With the quiet river, the bustling old town on one side, and the time that seems to have stood still on the other, the designers decided to create a place to settle the spirit on this piece of land. The designers laid a white canvas on the original axis base and introduced natural elements such as light, stone, rain and river from the natural world into the space, while exporting the natural power from the base through the sebiferous tree that grows into the sky, presenting a "flowing water art museum" without boundaries.



The meaning of the existence of art museum is to present art, and the Flowing Water Museum takes natural elements as the main body of curation, presenting the beauty of nature, light and stone, stone and water, water and tree, tree and shadow, and other art in the space, showing infinite possibilities with the change of time and the growth of life.



In an ever-changing urban landscape, a space can often outlive expectations. The designers wanted this project to create a state of openness and sharing with the city. In the same way that the space itself has no boundaries with nature, the museum will remain in a state of borderless interaction with the city, with the spontaneous participation of the citizens, in the hope that in the future, the functional form of the space will grow into more possibilities and truly become part of the city.
