The project is located in Longhua District, Haikou City, close to the West High-speed Railway Station. With more than 900,000 square meters of building area, the project has a collection of public transportation services, including urban high-speed rail stations, dual subway connections, multi-bus hubs, P+R parking. The Project also covers commercial malls, commercial streets, super high-rise offices, hotels, apartments, etc. This is an exciting and challenging design practice that integrates TOD urban complex with the high-speed railway system.
For such a multi-functional urban complex, the design process was based on the nine elements of TOD complex design summarized and proposed by the SHUISHI Commercial Public Building Design Department in the past ten years.
The main concept is to create a space system led by the Urban HUB and adopting the "pan-waiting hall" idea to integrate the high-speed railway station and the shopping mall. By achieving this, the design would transform the public transport passengers into commercial customers, and truly achieve the core concept of TOD integrated station and city development.
Finally, through the three-dimensional layering of various transportation systems, the city and business resources can be deeply integrated. It would further enhance the interaction of various functional systems so that the public spaces become more compact and efficient. The overall project is systematically considered and designed to improve the recognizability of the project. The ultimate goal is to catalyze the value of the community and surrounding areas, enhance the vitality of the region, and maximize the urban catalytic effect of the TOD project.
