FLOWING CLOUD OCT KINDERGARTEN

The project is located in Hefei Airport Economic Demonstration Zone, which is a new zone mainly inhabited by high-end talent. How can a new zone, still under construction, differentiate itself from old zones? How can we create a new life experience for the residents? These are interesting questions to ponder.



Due to historical reasons, the old town was designed merely for housing needs, without considering the impact on the whole community. It is therefore our hope to fit in with, and make a contribution to, the community while meeting the practical needs of the unique residents.



Following the concept of “City within a Forest”, the project is designed to blend with the city’s landscape. It is open to the rest of the city. While teaching areas are grouped together in a designated area, playgrounds are placed adjacent to a road leading to communities, so that locals can entertain themselves on weekends. The kindergarten is for education during the week and entertainment on weekends and therefore provides a nice complement to city infrastructure.



An impressive grassy slope at the entrance, which serves as a playground for kids, is something that no passer-by will fail to notice. As you pass by, whether on foot, in a car, or by bike, you will surely catch sight of kids running about. You might even catch some joyful gazes while being relaxed by abundant vegetation. The kids, too, will have a good view of what’s happening outside.



Looking up the slope, you will find that the project is completely open and everything floods into your view. The buildings are designed so that they look like clouds floating above. As you stroll along you may feel as if you had come into a world of clouds, with kids playing on them, running among them, and studying under them. It is nothing short of a kids’ paradise.
