Polestar has a vision: that sustainable materials can create new design opportunities while redefining premium, that technology can further close the gap between driver and car, and that design philosophy can always evolve. Polestar Precept brings that vision to life.

Questioning automotive conventions, the car’s aesthetics are rooted in cutting-edge technology aimed to start a new chapter of avant-garde design. The design is futuristic yet realistic. In fact, the sustainable and recycled materials found in Precept can already be produced.

Made from 100% recycled PET bottles, the tailored knit material covering its seats is made from a single strand of yarn, which looks and feels premium while reducing waste. Variations of this material have been seen before, but only in the fashion world. We’ve brought it into automotive.

Other sustainable materials include cycled Nylon 6, a material fashioned from discarded fishing nets, which would have otherwise ended up in the sea. Woven flax fibres of Bcomp, with the innovative powerRibs™ material form a 3D structure on the back of a panel which increases the panel’s strength and stiffness, while cutting down both weight and material amount. It can even behave better in a crash situation when compared with more conventional materials. And none of these materials come at the expense of design or quality.

Powered by Google: a phrase describing an ever-expanding range of items, now including cars. The next stage of infotainment will build on the current seamless infotainment experience for the Polestar 2, to evolve Google Assistant to be an even more helpful co-pilot, using advanced speech technology to expand to more languages, understand local accents and provide a more personalised experience.

The technology is from a future just around the corner, so close as to almost be the present. We’ve borrowed from tomorrow, not fifty years from now. It’s not a concept car, it’s a commitment car, a declaration of where we plan to go and what we plan to do. A rule to inform our future behaviour. A precept, in other words.
