Suzhou Greenland Hong Kong Dream City

Location
Dream City is located in Wujiang, Suzhou, only 2.6 kilometers away from the famous ancient water town Tongli. It has a quiet atmosphere, with developed transportation, beautiful scenery and lush green space.

Design concept
The design idea of Greenland Hong Kong Dream City Demonstration Area is to use modern design forms and materials as music scores, demonstrating Suzhou garden essence, adapting in the context of local culture, and writing an architectural aria across time and space.

The showroom is the core building of Dream City Demonstration Area, arranged in the center, whose implication is "flapping birds", with the rectangles as the basic elements. Through the design technique of segmentation and extension and different material combination changes, it becomes the overall form with modern dynamicity and garden style.

In the design of this building, the form of the ancient building component "wing angle" is adapted. Both the vertical wedge tip plates at the entrance, like the "tender wing angle", and the lateral wedge-shaped extension surface, similar to the "water wing angle", show the charm of Jiangnan gardens.

Expression
The main solid wall of the showroom is made of dark grey quartz bricks, which is a metaphor for the mountain and stone culture. The glass curtain walls match the mirror pool in front of the building, quiet and simple, comfortable and natural, creating a uniquely artistic atmosphere.

The architects used the light and champagne-coloured aluminium plastic panels as the entrance material, bringing a sense of technology. Ultra-white glass curtain walls stand in the main space on the ground floor. The second floor is made of semi-transparent glass, non-polluting, self-cleaning and flame retardant, which can not only surround the relatively private office space but also ensure the efficiency of indoor lighting. All of the design methods mentioned above, show the understanding and respect for functional space and materials.
