MGM Cotai Emerald Villas

Our award-winning building “Emporis Skyscraper Award – Best New Tall Building of 2019” - by KPF Architects, presents 6 villas per floor in the five floors of the building upper tier, with an overall area of 11,800 m². A stunning view over Coloane’s green hill, Cotai MGM top floors enjoy a prime location.



Westar Architects International Ltd. have understood the brief by echoing their expertise and creative knowledge on this industry. The result is a surprising combination of Chinese gardens aesthetics with a contemporary architectural touch.



The 28 suites are almost enlarged apartments, ranging from 106 to 317 m², where all elements were inspired by “Imperial Garden” concept, a fusion of Chinese traditional reimagined in a bold crafted design.



The concept blends in natural elements of stone, timber, lacquer with textiles such as wool carpets and handcrafted embroidered silk wall covering combining the black and rose gold metal, thus creating a contrast with engineered wood veneers. The material selection followed a rigid criterion of not depleting non-renewable resources and respecting the environment.



In each entrance Feng Shui elements are showcasing goldfish and water, associated with energy, strength, and wealth, thus interpreted into a diamond shaped aquarium with theatrical effect using Led lighting.



The bedroom suites offer generous bathroom areas including bespoke bathtub made of engineered stone with sculptural golden nano paint layers, resembling the Chinese Gold Sycee.



The TV for bath time relaxation is at eye level with a surround sound system. The shower cubicle offers a state-of-the-art digital shower by Kohler with several features such as steam, rain shower with RGB lighting and body massage shower jets. In some villas, the master bedroom connects directly to a massage room, with service upon request by MGM Spa Team.



Fitting-out contractor was WHH Engineering (Macau) Co. Ltd. who have diligently implemented the design intent. The product is a profound reflection on Chinese architecture integrating the elegance of contemporary design.
