The male owner of the project who growing up in a traditional family and has retained an assortment of memorabilia steeped in history. Being conservative and deeply believing in Feng Shui, he highly values the layout and the magnetic field indoors. Thus he prefers using golden materials and seeing black elements in a design as impermissible. To meet his personal needs and preferences, the original floor plan of four bedrooms, a dining room and a living room has been converted to a layout of one large bedroom and one large living room and a multipurpose space.

The front entry is constituted of two sections, and placed between the foyer and the living room is a foldable screen, which not only acts as a buffer zone for a change of moon in coming and going but preserves privacy inside. It also serves to fully retain the qi crystalizing in the space, enhancing good fortune and wealth. Additionally, to prevent the COVID-19 pandemic, cleansing and sterilization before going deeper inside the residence are conducted here in this section. In this way, personal hygiene and environmental sanitation are ensured. The distribution box is cleverly concealed inside the cabinetry to give the space a clean and neat look without breaking the space up.

The focal point of the living room is an expanse of TV wall—the “golden landscape” made of marble. The same golden vertical strips of titanium-plated metal on the wall are also applied in the foyer, the sliding door in the multipurpose space, and the door to the master bedroom, achieving a sense of integrity. As the color black is not allowed, an abundance of gray is utilized to accentuate the golden texture to make the space brilliant but not dazzling, golden but not glaring while making for a modern technological touch.

This living space is created specifically for a single middle-aged man, as well as strategic storage and healthy green materials. All the details are thoughtfully conducted to make a practical modern residence that looks to the future to highlight a taste that never goes out of style.
