Meandering around the luxuriant boulevard of the Seventh District, the National Theatre, Pritzker Prize winning architect Toyo Ito, sits alongside. The site is located at the most coveted luxury location in Taichung.
Reflected in the gallery-like space, the spatial details embarked on the emotional interaction and echoes before the grand opera house, setting off the spectrum of light and shadow grooving on the walls, contouring the elegance of the arched bridge at the end of the corridor, evoked a meek and pleasant character. Creating a warm and cozy atmosphere, with white as the base color, the furnishing of the public area and bedrooms with mellow ornaments as well as furniture; ingeniously utilize flannelette and contemporary materials to bring about a loving yet classy persona. The curvy form of the National Theatre, incorporated with sky and sunshine together with the scenic of the city; reducing the amount of partition walls opening up the core of the space to create a penetrating vision, introducing a large number of natural elements into the indoor space through the floor-to-ceiling windows lay out at the centere of the parlour; perception could extend from the interior to the exterior, making the boundary ambiguously vague, furthermore bilateral holes with oval shape, set on the side of the fireplace. The space distinctive transition from the open area to the intercourse zone; not to mention the arc-shaped bar made of genuine leather has a lavish surface, rebounded the delicacy of the space.
Each space enterprisingly concealed in the public area, revealing the concise of space while conserving its multifunction. Open and the private spaces are connected with the traits of circular shape by means of utilizing proportion, balance, and symmetry of the faƧade and celling structure; yet divided by the flooring material, chevron wood embedded with meticulous rose gold strip, signifies its independence.
Dynamic lights and shadow penetrate through the circular holes and arches are the trademarks of the natural visual effects we tend to set on this project, dazzling French style banquet, but in a sweet and gentle manner.
