Architectural Design on Office Building of Yibin Tianyi

The project is the HQ architecture of a Suzhou modern industrial enterprise sited in Yibin City, Sichuan Province, China. The client hopes to blend the mood and concept of Suzhou Gardens into his new industrial park. For instance, every room here can blend with the natural environment.

The step of space combination to start with is exactly the “blend”. Through the extension of the concept in classical Suzhou Gardens “the scenery changes with the movement”, it creates a four-dimensional flow state of architecture and space with the changes of people's viewpoints in the movement. The designer regards ten buildings as ten boxes in different sizes and arranges them horizontally or vertically. Ten buildings, end to end, jointly blend with the natural environment in a winding form.

The space combination of architecture adopts a mode, namely “embracing the nature”. The timeline used to link the space is close to the rules of “syntax”. It is no other than the timeline of visiting movement that runs across all sorts of functional space. When visitors walk along the line, the distinctive space that starts from the moderately solemn and broad entrance and ends at the green land before the catering center is unfolded in sequence like a painting scroll. Just as Congzhou Chen once depicted the garden design in On Chinese Gardens, our design vividly represents “Small gardens require still appreciation as you read a page while big gardens require moving appreciation as you read a long scroll.”
