JOYON CHINA CHIC

The project is located in Shenyang, a northern city in China, where the buildings always keep the characteristics of stability, balance and unity. In this design, the modernist contemporary residential buildings with small, elegant, natural and traditional Jiangnan gardens will provide another living possibility for the city. The organization principle is inspired by the garden experience of changing sceneries, and propose a four-layer progressive space circulation route of “garden-square-lane-yard”, where the pedestrians will inadvertently perceive the change of scenery when walking along the alleys in the community. For each residential building, in the structural framework of modernist residential buildings, the architects abstractly integrated the typical details of Chinese traditional architecture, with the picturesque views of garden, the ideal living atmosphere is operated. Moreover, through a large area of glass and refined materials and details, with the lighting, ventilation and window viewing, it provides a good quality of life. It is a residential building, but also a place for people to dialogue with nature and history. With an introverted image, it responds to the emphasis on artistic conception in Chinese traditional aesthetics, which is a new thing in history.
