Qinghai Duofu Impression City Exhibition Center

Sitting in the Hehuang New District, Qinghai Province, this project adjoins the Huangshui River, a pivotal tributary of the Yellow River. Inspired by local natural scenery, the design team has leveraged the conditions to create a landscape epitomizing the 'Hehuang Valley’ and ‘Southern Frontier'. The golden curved wall in the welcome area simulates the impressive scene of “Yellow River coming from the sky", a line from Li Bai’s poem. The terrace greenery mimics the multiple layers of mountains, from which waterfall cascades down to the sunken area, immersing visitors with the nature. The poetic atmosphere is enough to impress you even before entering. Looking through the window in the negotiation area, “galloping horses” made up of rock and dry landscape elements come into sight, reflecting the rugged and uninhibited feature typical of the northwestern people. The grand mirrored door out makes the space look larger and hides the model houses. Also, plants are installed to enhance space quality. Considering the local climate of Xining, more shrubs are grown instead of lawn, and pines and cypresses are dotted at the rear, which can meet the evergreen demand in four seasons.
