Parabola

Wishing the family to share the house’s riverside view, the designer makes loads of adjustments to the space’s structure and arrangement. The whole window view was initially a part of the master room. After communicating with the owners, the designer decides to place the living room beside the windows, which is at the end of the flow, instead of the initial location at the entrance. Thus, entering the space, one would firstly go through private areas of bedrooms, kitchen island, kitchen and then finally the living room with the view.



On the left side of the entrance is the whole private area. Bedrooms are equipped with hidden doors, making spatial transitions smoother. Through reducing the space occupied for opening the door, the design allows the bedroom to be more flexible to changes. In addition, the space is decorated with a lighter tone of the wood flooring, wardrobes, and curved wall combined with the ceiling. With a great natural lighting introduced, a simple, yet comfortable and elegant space is created.



Entering the dining area by taking a right turn at the entrance, one can immediately feel the lights shining through from the living room. The kitchen island is located at the center of the house. Although there are no windows aside, one can still feel the changes of the outside environment through the designer's great arrangement of visual and spatial depth.



The color of the wood flooring set up the main tone of the public space. A simple, neat, but a gentle atmosphere is established with different curves and structural arrangements. The owner also has lots of model car and gun collections. Therefore, a great amount of storage rooms are installed to satisfy the need to store and exhibit. Translucent shelving with embedded streamlined lights make the space much more fun, which also leaves a footnote of the owner’s personality.
