The G Hotel

Seashell’s G-Hotel rests on the southern edge of the Mediterranean and has become, since its opening in 2019, a glittering jewel on Egypt’s north coast, colloquially known as “Sahel”. The design thesis employs a minimalist approach, preferring to support and reflect the landscape of the site rather than impose its will upon it.



The beachfront property is reached by driving along a dedicated roadway that crests and then dips to reveal the Hotel building against the azure blue background of the sea. Thematically, the hotel echoes the design of the larger residential development around it – both benefitting from being of our own design. Yet, as the arriving guests crest the gentle hill, it appears as a punctuation mark without which the development would feel incomplete.



This deft approach extends through to the interiors and details of the varied rooms themselves, catering to the needs of the Hotels’ guests effortlessly and with minimal fanfare. There are eight different room types at the G Hotel: Beach and Pool Rooms, two uniquely designed Suite types, the G-Lofts and finally three “Houses”. Each of these configurations furnishes guests with state-of-the-art connectivity and every modern amenity to which they have become accustomed.



The G-Lofts have generous double-height ceilings and are bathed in the warm glow of the surfside sun, with the sleeping area overlooking the generous living space below. The Shell Houses are perched along a network of large salt-water pools, providing guests with an unparalleled and private experience. Splashes of the hotels signature Yellow are used to reflect the sunlight that permeates every corner of the property while the materials and the palette of the furniture itself speak to the sand-washed natural exteriors.



The harmony between all elements, man-made or natural, was the result of painstaking attention to detail and an uncompromising desire to define what it is to enjoy the Summer on the “Sahel”
