FuMeei Seafood Hot Pot was established back in 1966, starting off in Nanfang-Ao fish port, this little fishing village. Back in those days when the transportation was still not yet convenient, their customers were all from the local area. The couple owners persist on the core value of “local ingredient, down to earth service,” eventually creating a good reputation there. Even until it gets popular these days, FuMeei insists on serving each customer with passion, with fresh seafood of the best quality. The catering business now has passed down three generations. The younger generation wishes to make the brand much more diverse, therefore establishing the new restaurant with the trendy and novel way of dining, single-serving mini hotpot.
The designer therefore decides to bring in the core value of “the freshest seafood ingredients and the most welcoming service.” The color palette mainly consists of “moss green,” “sun yellow,” and “azure blue.” These colors applied on the partitions and walls symbolize the sea and the passion. With wooden materials and the colors used in the design, a natural and organic atmosphere is created, providing customers the refreshing feeling while dining. The ceiling is designed based on the image of “sea waves.” The curved lines provide a sense of freedom and fluidity, flowing in between the spaces. The round hanging lights then represent the seafoam in the sea, fun bubbles sparkling and shining here and there. The warmth of vibrant colors provides a sense of enthusiasm, passion and welcome. Thus, while entering, all the customers can feel like returning home, dining with a relaxing atmosphere.
The designer also wisely arranges the space into two areas based on the needs of the restaurant. The height of the bars and the partitions divide the restaurant based on the ways of dining. The dining bar counter is arranged for individual customers, while friends can sit at the table with multiple single-serving hotpots. The booths with darker colors provide privacy for family or groups to share the bigger hotpot together.
