Glittering with the gorgeous radiant rays of the ceiling light, the entrance of the space warmly welcomes each resident returning home, leading them to the safe harbor of their spirit. Designing according to the family’s need, the space is arranged at best for encouraging interaction. The open-floor plan of the public area is meant to improve the flow, ventilation, and natural lighting, which also boosts the interaction between family members. The public area made of various stone and titanium materials creates a sense of low-profile luxury for the owner, a director of a company, to invite friends and important customers. At the back of the living room, there are also the study and the buddha table for worshiping. The table is measured and designed on site, which is made of wooden materials with the mild color matching the greyish stone counter. Thus, the area will not be incompatible to the atmosphere of the whole, but is functional with a hidden retractable table for worshiping and placing offerings. While the two daughters get to have rooms that are designed based on their preferences, the female owner enjoys a bigger arrangement of the kitchen and her own personal workshop in a semi-open floor plan. The original partition of this room is put down and replaced by iron display shelving, which not only gives her a space to exhibit but also solves the sense of being too narrow on the aisle. In addition, due to the bad air quality of the site, the designer not only plans to improve the family interaction through the space design, she also wishes to give them a healthy living environment. Energy recovery ventilation with the Daikin VRV system is used in the house. As for the diatomaceous earth used on the walls, it can regulate the humidity of the air inside and improve the odor. With these arrangements, the owner will leave a clean and comfortable environment every time after cooking at home.
