THE PARK

The project is a public space in a residential community which provides public areas for recreational exchanges for residential residents.Located in the three “activity areas” of the Bund, Lujjiazui and the North Bund, the Pearl River World Bund enjoys the prospect of regional development. Adjacent to North Sichuan Road Park and Helen Park, the designer absorbed the inspiration of the landmark parks with a history of decades and implanted the concept of oriental garden into the works. This implies a natural and quality living environment under hundreds of years of humanity. This project has 2 floors, wherein the 1st floor is the building entrance containing artifacts like the rickshaws and phonograph of old Shanghai city to bring guests into a beautiful life of Oriental Garden, and the 2nd floor is a VIP reception area applying the modern new oriental design style to offer guests an experience of humanistic charm of oriental garden and sense of belonging.

There were many small shops on 2nd floor originally. We break the original space and turn it into an open interior garden. We move the exterior garden into interior space and create an oriental garden space with elements like bridge, flowing water, waterfall, etc. Construction of water pond in the interior space is one of the challenges.

Through ingenious design, we make the interior space into a surrounding moving line design like a park. This makes people feel walking in the park when they wander in the interior space.

The design integrates the charm of oriental garden and elements of garden in order to create a living space with harmony between human and the nature and realize harmonious development of human and the nature.
