This space is a new home for a young couple; the 20-ping interior is small, exquisite yet equipped with high functionality. The initial lack of light caused by single-sided structure and large cross beam left the space dark. Hence, the designer opened up the bedroom behind the living room and the area became an open study slash resting corner. Meanwhile, the two windows were installed to draw sufficient lighting and ventilation, creating a bright and comfortable living space. Furthermore, the cross beam of the dining room and the study is hidden by the pitched ceiling with embedded lighting that also complements the modeled television wall. The flaws are transformed into art through interior surface streamlines and grids to shape a sophisticated spatial feeling.
Apart from turning disadvantages into advantages, the project centers on Japanese aesthetics and health benefits. The warm and pure interior color palette is dominated by creamy beige incorporating wood and sage green to make a natural tone that is peaceful, warm, refreshing. The walls of the living and dining areas are covered with environmentally-friendly paint atop with artistic coating with shining effect. The use of wood veneers and environmentally-friendly plates can be seen on surface and cabinets. The sofa in violet gray and paint in sage green create layers of colors. Green plants have added to corners to purify the environment and elevate the mood.
The master bedroom itself continues the gentle and flowing lines of the public area. A curved ceiling helps undo the Feng Shui taboo caused by the location of the bedside. A semi-open curved wooden wall is set up to divide the sleeping area and the dressing area to maintain the expansive feeling. An independent dressing room is fitted with the same grids and matte glasses on top to draw daylight.
