Partners are like light and shadow, chasing each other and accompanying each other at the same time. Similarly, for the space, the interplay of light and shadow is like a natural makeup artist in the space. In this project, the designer used the steady gray tones together with the warm wood texture. Adding the lighting strips, the design showed the interwoven light and shadows overlapped with natural texture to build a sense of layers in the space. To improve the oppressive feeling caused by the low ceiling beams, the designer used a large number of rounded corners to wrap the trim and extended the vision of the space with linear lighting. The main wall of the living room is decorated with wood panels to form a visual sense of unity. The sliding doors between kitchen and dining space are made of iridescent glass with white frames, reflecting the linearity of the space and allowing the light penetrating the spaces. The designer not only increased the storage with the wooden cabinets and also divided the spaces clearly as living room, dining room, and kitchen. The designer designed a cabinet with various depths at the entryway. On the left side of the cabinet, there is a shoe wear area, while the upper part is a drawer for the keys and wallets. At the middle cabinet, there is a shoe shelf as a display rack. On the right side of the cabinet is a closet for jackets and clothing. The color palette of the home is based on the owner's favorite Hermès orange. Custom-made furniture in Hermès orange brightened up the whole living room. The painting called "Makeup" is the visual focal point echoing the various finishing techniques used in this space to make all the corners and details of the entire home as one design.
