Carbon mitigation is a priority touchpoint for our team at ecofashionCORP and we believe this should be a top focus for all global fashion brands. The fashion industry has the power to change the course of climate change. Cotton is the most heavily sprayed agricultural crop, which is an integral starting point to understand and explore the connection between soil health, planetary health, and human health.

We are currently working on a dynamic array of projects so that we can drive carbon reduction up our supply chain. We are involving a number of industry-trusted, impact data-collecting tech partners, who are aiding us in compiling this data from farm to finished product. With a baseline in place, we can react and incorporate evolving strategies to lower our carbon footprint at every stage of the supply chain. We will also have a more informed idea of where and when to offset in order to reach our carbon net-zero plan.

At ecofashionCORP, we only use preferred fibers and materials (certified organic, recycled, or circular) which helps us in our journey as this is the first step in driving carbon mitigation. Our secondary fiber to organic cotton for all of our blends is Lenzing’s Tencel Lyocell is carbon neutral certified. This helps us to lower our emissions right out of the gate as we work on doing the same across the entire supply chain.

As a new company, our team is in the midst of building out the framework to understand where we are now and how to adopt solutions to get us to where we want to be. We are establishing timelines and setting concrete targets around our sustainability goals, with plans to share our progress and be fully transparent along the way. This will be done through an interactive dashboard that traces our product through the supply chain, offering a powerful storytelling narrative. This application is being built out this fall.
