Jinan Shuangquan Service Area

"One city with mountains and half of the city with springs" integrates architecture and interior with flowing springs. Quoting the ideology of spring water flow, it continues to the whole space and interprets the traditional humanistic feeling with contemporary design language. It creates an abstract Spring City in the real space. The overall space decoration modeling of the service area abstracts the gushing spring, which makes the perfect collision between classical poetry and contemporary aesthetics. The simple, atmospheric and abstract design closely integrates science and technology with humanities, showing the vigorous development of Jinan all the time.

The remote mountain skyline is abstracted into a polyline, which is reflected on the parapet wall on top of the building, and the vertical line elements of flowing water are reflected on the "U-shaped" glass curtain wall of the main facade of the building.

Elliptical inner courtyard is designed in the middle of Multi-functional Building, creating an inner courtyard landscape that symbolizes "spring" water. Varieties of experience space of the service area create a quiet outdoor space on the high-speed line.

In order to reflect the concept of "flowing water" in the landscape design in project, a certain area of waterscape was designed on the periphery of the Multi-functional Building and the atrium. The management and maintenance of a large water area in northern region of China will inevitably become a difficulty in the future operation. To solve this problem, we applied the waterscape as mirrored water in the design. No necessary to inject water during the cold winter period. The smooth bottom tiles are able to show same effect of waterscape.
