The project is the first new landmark of Shandong Expressway with the characteristics of "transportation and tourism service area +". The design of the service area focuses on its tourism attributes. Combine the whole cultural tourism project of Tai'erzhuang Grand Canal around the plot to build it into an ecotourism "destination".

The design fully reflects the regional culture and integrates the Tai'erzhuang ancient town culture into architecture, landscape and interior design. In the design, Chinese composition, bucket arch, cornice, slope top, door arch, grille and other Chinese elements are perfectly applied to create a landmark building that can represent the portal of Tai'erzhuang.

It put forward the concept of "courtyard" service area was proposed. The landscape courtyard is created through architecture, and people are in it, forgetting that they may be still on a weary journey, forgetting the high-speed car flow behind them, and forgetting many disturbing factors.

The architectural forms of two horizontal and three vertical perfectly defines the front, middle and inner space interfaces, which is clear and orderly. Via remodeling the courtyard and relative interfaces, a corridor is created to give a circular indoor and outdoor double streamline.

On the basis of an overall image that reflecting the landscape context of Tai'erzhuang, the regional culture is closely combined with the landscape. As guide-sign to enter, a cultural wall is set at the entrance area. To attract sights and split traffic flow, a canal drum sculpture is set in the middle area. A "Pavilion story Section" is set in the car parking area that nearby building, echoing "Jiege Lingbo", one of the eight scenic spots in ancient town, to provide a short-term rest. Chinese landscape is set in the atrium of the building, echoing the "Jiushui Huichuan", one of the Eight Sights in ancient town.

Through the penetration of holographic projection virtual reality technology into whole space, giving passengers an immersive interactive experience. The whole project combines extraction of ancient town wall with modern material art glass decoration to create a bright, novel online celebrity check-in place, and build a smart global tourism service center in China.
