Xi'an Valley City

The project creates an outstanding icon of the area with the continuous façades facing the river side and the Olympic stadium. By the pleasant scale of open retail street, outdoor space and event plaza, the design enhances the customer flow and establishes a dynamic neighborhood, and furthermore with the diversified programs and functions, successfully makes a urban mixed use hub of workplace, retail, hospitality and residential.

The tower facade design draws inspiration from the ancient Qin Dynasty armor, which is a unique symbol of Xi’an city. The massing has been cut and a sky lobby box is introduced, responding to the programmatic separation of the office and hotel for the tower. It is the right proportion, round corner, as well as the interlocking texture of curtain wall units that expresses the detail and charm of the “armor”.

The commercial podium part aims to create a vivid neighborhood. With a good combination of cold and warm materials, sold and void massing, as well as rich details, it builds up a vigorous and fashionable atmosphere. The continuous decorative canopy integrates the entire commercial blocks.
