This project is located in Huai’an, a city in the mid-north Jiangsu Province. The design team selects three main regional elements, namely watertown, canal and salt from the Huai’an culture, and turns the space design into an epitome of culture and air. The simple strike and unpretentious tonality depict an elaborate story of space, city and humans.

The antechamber is designed with the core philosophy of watertown, whose clean ground that ripples along with the water drop sculpture hung on the ceiling, resembles the transparent rivers. The seat for relaxation is akin to a boat on the river, while the artistic chandelier takes the shape of a dripping raindrop to dispel the indoor boredom and heat for guests.

The art hall continues the river-like ground of the antechamber. The end of the vision is a minimized image of Hongze Lake, meaning the origin of life. The gallery is flanked by different images on either side. On the left, there is a picture of Huai’an salt culture made of salt; on the right, it’s an artistic sculpture, inspired by water, focusing on both charm and styling, which looks like the water in Hongze Lake that showcases an irresistible and invincible force.

A few steps inwards will bring you to the most significant in the sales office—the sand board area. The design team refers to Boundless area, the classic work of Emilio Ambasz and turns the distinctive geomorphological structure of the salt pond into an elaborate and ethereal artistic chandelier. The yellow gradient light under the reflection of glass wraps the winding and ethereal glass “silk”, irradiating natural light, which registers the whole space chic and elegant, as well as stunning.

The design of the chat and activity areas, compared with the detailed and intricate decoration of the former areas, are more cozy and airy. The large French windows guarantee excellent daylighting. Simple but elegant color scheme and clear layout, as well as soft decoration with natural texture further lead guests into the embrace of Mother Nature. Furthermore, the bright ground helps guests feel the unique beauty of the Yangtze River delta.
