In Hoi An, Vietnam, the ancient town area is full of old houses with a long history. These historic sites have been preserved in their original form, and the French colonial style is one of the architectural features of the old town. The interior design of the hotel is inspired by the French colonial period in Vietnam, blending colonial architecture and decoration. Taking the colonial style as the main axis, the local customs and artistic styles are organically combined to create a spatial experience of memory and sensory synesthesia.



The hotel lobby is the first point of contacting guests with a visual memory. It is laid out in a classic French-style spatial symmetry, combining the natural beauty of the tropical rainforest and the unique Southeast Asian national characteristics. Through the dismantling and reorganization of design methods and materials, as well as the innovation in the use of materials, the designers put old elements in a new language in different spaces, creating a contrast between the old and the new. Use the halo of light and shadow on the surface of the material to create the effect of hierarchical transformation and connect to the background the local culture.



The exposure of culture comes from the details of life. The interior in line with the background of the times represents the aesthetic and cultural characteristics of contemporary people. The design of the restaurant combines colonial and oriental charm, such as retro decoration and wood lines on the walls, partitions with woven texture, shutters with Vietnamese French architectural style, chandeliers and printed elements, etc., creating a sense and fusion of modernity and retro. In the bar area, the pattern texture of the floor and wall is inspired by the southern French style picture book, which is exceedingly elegant.



The designer expresses the retro sense of the times with the texture of materials for the space, it returns to the original design and the calm and restrained color matching make people feel cozy unconsciously.
