Oriental Mansion

Located in the historic Qinhuai District of Nanjing, Jiangsu Province, the project covers an area of 7,000 square meters, the project remains the memory of the city, integrating Chinese culture into design.Meanwhile,the project conveys the art of space with oriental aesthetics and creates a space with a modern design approach. The design is based on the concept of "mountain and forest in the city", begins with the scale of landscape space and users' needs, and draws on the spatial rituals of Chinese gardens to build multiple spaces such as entrance space, ceremonial space, public garden, spiritual water courtyard, and private garden (forest hall, mountain and water courtyard, and valley of curved paths), etc. Through geometric interplay, the project realizes the compounding of spatial functions. By using the elements of mountain, water, forest,light and shadow, we creates a garden landscape with rich layers and various experiences.

Multi-disciplinary and cross-border joint design of architecture, landscape and interior strengthens the fluidity and hierarchy of space to achieves the effective use of space and the best artistic effect ,enhancing the quality and elegance of life for users. The integration of artworks sublimates the artistry of the space and creates an ethereal landscape mood, thus realizing the combination of function and site spirit. Preserve the natural memory of the original site Sapium sebiferum forest, recreate the landscape of the mountains and forests through ecological methods, and at the same time realize the sustainable use of resources and maximize the ecological value of the site.

Oriental Mansion is an exploration of the future design for the ideal habitat, return to nature, return to ecology, return to life, evoking a more harmonious relationship between people and people, people and nature, to create a hermitage within the bustling city, reconstructing people' s dream of returning to the mountains.
