Leshan Sales Center

A good design concept breath life into a project. Landscape designer Yi-Liang Lin described the concept of this project as: “Plant a tree so that it will spread and cover the hill. The humanist concern of the environment plants a firm treehouse.” Collaborating with Yile Interior Design, he creates Wanchi Leshan Sales Center. Given the term of lease stipulating the condition of use, the foremost concern of the project is to select environmental-friendly material at the least cost while achieving overall functionality. The place was previously used by Taiwan Sugar Corporation as an ice popsicle shop. To preserve the original structure at the termination of the lease, the cladding and wrapping methods create the trees and the hills. The plywood base surrounds the circular space as five trees “grow” on it. The image of big trees and the modular assembly interweave and extend upward, forming a dynamic forest.
