The most distinctive feature of the Candeo Hotels Kyoto Karasuma Rokkaku is that it is a designed around of the former Banke Residence, a valuable traditional townhouse that is a registered tangible cultural property of Kyoto City.

In the city of Kyoto, where many buildings of high traditional value remain, the " The former

Banke Residence " is a valuable building that retains the atmosphere of its time.

In order to realize the client's vision of preserving and restoring the precious traditional architecture of

the time and giving it a new value as a hotel, we at GARDE utilized our talented design team to provide

the best consulting, design, and coordination services using the latest technology. The result is a design

space that is comfortable, highly functional, and outstanding.

Rather than simply making an old thing new, clean, and easy to use, the Candeo Hotels Kyoto Karasuma Rokkaku has further "optimized" the "completed design" (optimal solution) at a high level.

【Design Concept】

GARDE used its expertise and modern technology to enhance the former Banke residence, a very

valuable traditional building, while preserving its former beauty to create an optimal renovation.

In order to achieve a design that blends in and harmonizes with the surrounding environment, which has

many historical buildings and historical aspects, we at GARDE utilized the straight lines that are

characteristic of Japanese-style architecture, while combining travertine colors and warm pink, bronze details in the patterns to blend in a Western-style design with an unexpected feel. The result is an unexpected Western design space. The use of walnut also creates a sense of luxury.

While retaining and utilizing the attractive historical spaces and components, we designed a new value space that is unique to other hotels by adding a new bar, lounge, library, and sky spa with sauna.

Through its design, GARDE has succeeded in connecting the space of 130 years ago, when the former Banke family residence was built, with the space of today.
