Starkey recently launched a new era of hearing technology with its innovative family of hearing aids – Evolv AI. Using information from both ears to localize the direction of sound, Evolv AI automatically reduces background noise and zeros in on speech. This provides natural sound effortlessly, as users do not need to make any adjustments themselves with the always-on and always-automatic technology.  Modeled after the human auditory system, Evolv AI makes 55 million adjustments every single hour and reduces background noise energy by 40% compared to previous models.

48 million Americans suffer from hearing loss, and research has shown a connection between hearing health and overall health and wellness. In fact, adults with hearing loss are up to five times more likely to develop dementia. Untreated hearing loss is also linked to cardiovascular issues, loneliness and mental health problems. Data from the World Health Organization shows that people's hearing is getting worse across the globe. According to the first-ever World Report on Hearing, more than 430 million people worldwide require treatment for hearing loss. It’s estimated that in the next three decades that number will rise to nearly 2.5 billion.

Despite these statistics, on average, people wait roughly 7 years between first noticing their hearing loss and finally treating it. The main reason people delay getting hearing aids is the stigma associated with wearing these devices. Cutting-edge technology like Evolv AI is helping reduce that stigma and turning hearing aids from need-to-wear devices into want-to-wear devices – such as sleek, customizable, in-the-ear options that put the hearing aid nearly out of sight. From the smallest custom crafted hearing aids to the most powerful behind-the-ear devices, users don’t have to choose between power and aesthetics with Evolv AI. This allows those with hearing loss to receive the hearing support they need, without the stigma associated with wearing the device.
