Design is a creation mixed with various factors such as function, style and spirit. The designer strives to enclose precious life moments through residential space; for them to ferment through time and eventually bloom as memories with sweet aroma. Different from urban residences that value private space, this project connects the lives of people who live here through a Z shape base, providing a living experience for all.
Introducing the generating and overcoming concept of Chinese Five Phases, along with positions, sunlights and wind flow in consideration, a pleasant place to live is thus created. The large area of water injected from south to north, leading water vapor to achieve cooling effect and induces the formation of wind corridors to promote indoor and outdoor air circulation. The balcony mimics the shape of the cave dome, bringing the changes of light, shadow and greenery. From the front, the designer creates the artistic conception of the valley in the mountains, and uses the greenery outside the staircase hall to form green waterfalls. In addition, the design concept of the house is based on three elements: wind, light and green. Even when the safety ladder is closed, the cross wind shaft can still drive the air flow of each household and balance the indoor temperature and humidity.
The designer hopes that this project can lead people to return to the origin of life, to find the connection between human and nature, and to establish a relationship of mutual care and mutual assistance with neighbors. The community acts as an ecological green island in the city that shares green space, combined with ecological corridors to reduce the urban heat island effect.
This project has a large number of water areas and greenery, which reduces the heat accumulation and heat radiation of the hard pavement, and is matched with induced ventilation to greatly reduce the overall ambient temperature. A porous design is made in the underground layer to introduce wind and light into the underground space to naturally discharge exhaust gas and reduce the use of electric energy.
