Located in Rudong County, Nantong City, the project with the theme of “Micro-holiday, Pan-Community” is a community commercial center that provides an interactive space for family gathering in modern cities by integrating daily life and non-daily life concepts.
Inspired by the surging waves of the Yellow Sea, the designer adopted streamline elements as the main tone of the facade and combined it with the exterior of the ecological park, rendering the project rich in dynamic and modernity.
Besides, the designer meticulously planned the space layout. According to the analysis on the crowd flow, the entrances are located at the northwest and southwest corners in order to guide the crowd and display the project. It is the subtle design that not only serves the locals more smoothly but also better attracts nonlocal visitors. The plaza is distributed with many inner streets to provide strengthened connection between various modules of the project for visitors to enjoy more comprehensive service. The plaza at the southeast corner complements the atrium, together with the terraces on the second and third floors, offering visitors a comfortable space for family time. Additionally, the sunken plaza is designed to divert the crowd distribution in the supermarkets, combined with the the set-back space, making a layered space form.
Furthermore, the project combines folk culture, ecological leisure and community life via the design of five main scenes. In this way, it introduces a new lifestyle in modern cities, which echoes the theme and enriches people’s lives.
