Duo Abode

Duo abode was a designed to be a testament in our belief that with good design, space is not a limiting factor to contemporary luxury living. The design and material selection had to be very well balanced when incorporating a myriad of functions. We had to apply a very critical approach to strategically select finishes, their orientation, texture, colour and mirror placement to play with strategic visual illusions, emotional reactions and accoustic qualities to achieve a warm, cosy, tasteful contemporary home which felt larger than it was and a home that the owners could be proud of.
The 250 square feet of common space houses the kitchen, dining, living, laundry, a place to work from home, a piano and a hide away mahjong table to house a family of four and their guests occasionally. Innovative design had to be applied here, numerous site measurements and markings were done together with the client on site to ensure we achieved optimum dimensions with little to no over-provision.

The clients had come to us with a request for a house that felt like a luxury service apartment with all the functional necessities hidden away and additional requests to house a piano and mahjong table. These were all carefully captured and delivered in finesse with Duo Abode.
