The family love travel and visiting galleries .As it is not a primary residence, many important decisions are required to design a temporary home that feels comfortable and unique ,either for guests or long stretches of quiet relaxation.
When we first saw the apartment ,I noticed its great view and sunlight ,but the floor plan was jumbled and the rooms were dim ,requiring clear thought on how to maximize space while retaining the house’s integrity . To take advantage of the skyline views and highlight the client’s art collection ,we open up the kitchen, dining, and living areas.
We wanted to give the house a more chic ,fresh look that stilled suited its architecture .
From the fabrics to the paint , beige-on beige palettes immediately create an effect . The dining area is part of the main living space and was casual entertaining in mind .When the doors are flung open ,guest grab a curved aisle , a beautiful flower or a marble-like tile. Putting a built-in banquette in front of the wall freed up more space and made it possible to accommodate more people than individual chairs would.
This is a home that let you take a deep breath and allow your shoulders to relax.
