11 Can you explain a bit about the winning work you entered into the 2023 MUSE Design Awards, and why you chose to enter this project?

This project involves the renovation of a pre-owned residence. Initially, the homeowner wished to extend the existing layout and add basic living functionalities. After several rounds of communication and negotiation, they decided to explore a new lifestyle, marking a new chapter in their life. The project began with the removal of certain partitions, merging the living and dining areas into a spacious shared space, allowing for limitless possibilities and diverse usage. Upon entering the residence, the entryway features a unique material combination, creating a transition area for residents coming and going, setting the tone for a change in mood. Reflecting the homeowner's hospitable nature, a shared dining area with dual dining tables was incorporated into the interior design to accommodate hosting friends and family. Furthermore, the material extension on the TV wall visually connects the two shared spaces, creating a subtle harmony. The shared dining table serves not only for dining but also as a workspace and reading area, offering multifunctionality and increased interaction among family members. Thoughtful layout and circulation planning enhance the functionality and flexibility of each area, reducing the inconvenience of repeated movement in daily life.
