About The Entry

Inspired by its surroundings, we try to blurred the physical boundary and introduce cultural and poetic atmosphere into common spaces. From the outside arcade to main entrance into reception, there are sections of big wooden panels imitate section of books. The high ceiling lobby is surrounded by book shelves can serve as a library allow occupants and visitors to pick up something to read or even host community book club events. A translucent divider creates by bookshelves separate lobby to semiprivate elevator hall and mail room. Grill pattern and mirror refection are the other two key elements to carry the out the designer’s concept with practical purpose. The metal grill ceiling with wood finish at basement parking lot, the second floor fetidness/yoga room, and meeting room allow these common spaces to fit the fire safety code. Sprinkle system and smoke detector can hide within grills. But these also bring in the impression of pilled books.

The mirror finished stainless steel mail boxes in the mail room, titanium ceiling plate in the elevator hall, and the black copper-free at the fitness/yoga area not only visually widened the space but blurred the physical boundary limits.

Our goal is to design a more friendly and sustainable space for people. Not only by using materials with low VOCs, low HCHO (low formaldehyde) standards and details of fresh air ventilation system, but also care all omnidirectional accessible design such as route for disabled, barrier-free ramp, barrier-free toilet etc. Meanwhile, abundant natural light is ushered in through glass bricks in public space to implement energy saving and carbon reduction. And making the space not only be aesthetically pleasing, but also a friendly design.
