Double Hedge Teapot

This is a pair of custom-made pear-shaped silver pots by Ms Sixue Xiao, named respectively: Dongli and Xili. One is old-fashioned, polished gray, and restrained; the other is plain, simple, clear and pure white. The tea maker creates his own tea world of specific time and space, that is natural, quiet, and idyllic.
The pear-shaped pot, one of the pot styles, began in the Yuan Dynasty and became popular in the Ming Dynasty. It got its name because the body of the pot resembled a pear. It has a bulging belly, round type, with an arched cover tangent to the body. Composed of arcs, circles, and curves, the shape is dignified and beautiful, especially the two arcs connecting the spout and the body, which are round, full, smooth and vivid. The color of the pot is warm and comfortable; the quality simple and exquisite, and the rhyme elegant and generous. This pear-shaped pot designed and customized by Ms Xiao Sixue is based on the shape of the classic pear-shaped pot, but it is deformed and re-designed and expressed, to make its lines more refined and lively, and its charm more simple and unrestrained. The handle and button are made of precious ebony wood, showing simplicity and natural beauty.
The ingenious teapot is made with integral molding by the well-known silverware brand Beaulieu. The silver used is pure and clean, which is good for tea-making. A unique spout design is also used for stable and controllable pouring, which can ensure the tea soup flows out slowly, with the accuracy of the water discharge and the agility of the flow, and avoids accidents when the tea soup suddenly pours out.
The pronunciation of "pear" is the same as "parting" in Chinese. Parting is sad and sorrowful. While we making tea by the pear-shaped pot, its lid and body are separated and reunited many times, yet with less separation and more gathering. The closed lid is firm and seamless, which has a beautiful connotation of no separation and no parting.
