2022 LUO SHAN FENG ARTS FESTIVAL: THE WIND BLOWS TO THE FUTURE
An Invitation from the Wind
Every year from October, the northeastern monsoon climbs over the Central Mountain Range and descends towards the coast, forming strong and gusty downslope winds called “luo shan feng”, or “wind rolling over the mountain”. From winter to spring, the townships south of Fangshan, including Checheng, Hengchun, Mudan, Fenggang, and Manzhou, brace themselves for the howling winds. In the wake of its fourth anniversary, the "Luo Shan Feng Arts Festival" begins as the wind rises, turning what is everyday mundanity into creative dynamism with art, nature, literature, history, and the local community. For visitors, embark from the Haikou Port, Checheng, and take the Ping-153 provincial highway (Golden Coast Highway) all the way to the south. A full sensory experience of Pingtung awaits you.
Luo Shan Feng Arts Festival, the 2022 Silver Award winner of the MUSE International Design Awards, is moving towards a greater horizon. This year, under the theme “the Wind, Blows to the Future”, the organizer invites 13 artists from Taiwan, Mexico, Japan, and the Netherlands to showcase their artworks both outdoors at the Beach Area and the Harbor Area, as well as indoors in the Breeze Hall and the Seaside Gallery.
