The project is located in Xiuzhou District, Jiaxing, Zhejiang, China. The city is born with water and thrives according to the times. The unique culture nourishes the prosperity and development of the city. As a residential development demonstration area, the project responds locally to the city’s typical Jiangnan heritage. The overall design draws on the architectural layout and scale relationship of the famous Qing Dynasty garden in Jiaxing——Baoshu Pavilion, and adopts the layout of Jiangnan gardens and enriches the spatial sequence. The surrounding environment and the buildings borrow scenery from each other, forming a visual connection of "seeing and being seen" among buildings, water bodies and courtyards, and also using modern architectural design techniques to restore the presentation of traditional spaces, allows users be on the scene and regain people's longing for visiting Jiangnan gardens.

The single building uses continuous floating panels, virtual and real walls, and verandahs to connect the tour path of the project together, bringing about a tortuous spatial form transformation and guiding the experiencer to go deep into the environment. The landscape and interior design are based on the concept of "Eight Scenic Spots of Jiahe" in the local culture, echoing the garden theme of the entire project.

At the entrance of the project, a large floating gray space and a ceiling in the form lantern create a warm and homely atmosphere. The unbounded and melted minimalist floor-to-ceiling glass windows in the negotiation area, form a rich spatial hierarchy from far to near with the outdoor pavilions, pools, and corridors, forming a frame for the beautiful scenery of Jiangnan.

Based on the gathering form of ancient Chinese literati - " elegant gathering", we imagined eight scenarios for the use of the site. It integrates elegant gathering activities such as listening to the rain, finging seclusion, incense, drinking, reading, waiting for the moon, drinking tea, and flower arrangement, so as to fully present the scene theme of ancient visiting Jiangnan gardens.
