Geely Star Armor Body is an automotive bodywork technology concept with an ensemble of high safety levels, high light weight, high NVH (noise, vibration and harshness) performance, affordable maintenance cost and the highest level of passive body safety. All routes concerning the bodywork process can represent the national basic industry to a certain extent. In the past century of automotive industry development, there was no trace of China’s bodyworks in typical body structures. As an icon of China’s own brands, Geely has raised the labeling concept of tailoring the Star Armor Body and expected to leave a unique mark of China’s own brands in the future track of automotive industry. Geely Galaxy E8 features TWB+Patch one-piece door rings and “ten squares” extruded aluminum beam with a vital part in structural safety, occupant protection, battery protection and lightweighting. One-piece door rings enhance the strength and rigidity of the door structure and improve the overall stability of the bodywork, which means an enhanced safety level of the structure. This design can also better protect occupants and provide more reliable crash protection. “Ten squares” extruded aluminum beam reduces body weight, guarantees strength, and attains the aim of lightweighting. In addition, this design protects the battery structure well to ensure safe operation of the battery pack. With respect to NVH performance, Geely Galaxy E8 boosts crash safety, torsional stiffness and modality by strengthening the body on key sites. The optimized design of the roof front cross beam structure is taken to avoid the low frequency booming noise. Version 1.1 and 1.5 of the Star Armor Body has finished. The Star Armor technique will be updated at the user-specified request with the optimal bodywork scheme tailored in respect of structure, material and technique, in order to stay at the front of technology and attributes.
